Great programs are created by great faculty, and no one can doubt that Dr. Milton Bailey was instrumental in creating the outstanding food science program at Mizzou. For more than 35 years, he taught and mentored dozens of graduate students. His love for his students was equaled only by his love of flavor research which he continued until he retired from MU in 1993. His specialty was in flavor chemistry where he taught with a goal of preparing and challenging his students for careers in industry or university research. His research specialty continues today, and this fund will support a graduate student in flavor chemistry.
